The uOttawa Interprofessional Health Association, or uOttawa IPHA (formerly known as the Ottawa Health Sciences Students’ Association) is an SFUO-registered club at the University of Ottawa, and consists of a group of students devoted to promoting interprofessional collaboration and education at the student level. The IPHA also promotes patient-centred practice and collaborative teamwork through interprofessional education in order to respond to the evolving health care needs of Canadians.
We provide interactive learning activities for students in health and social care programs at post-secondary institutions in Ottawa, Ontario. We are best known for our two annual events, including the Healthcare Team Challenge in the fall semester, and the Panel Event in the winter semester.
uOttawa IPHA strives to facilitate the understanding of the various roles involved in the delivery of patient care by fostering respect and trust with colleagues in the healthcare system.
Through academic events, uOttawa IPHA facilitates the understanding of roles in delivering patient-centered care by fostering respect and trust for fellow colleagues within the healthcare system.
What is interprofessionalism?
uOttawa IPHA offers interprofessionalism-based competitions and discussion panels in hopes of creating a future of interprofessionalism in healthcare.
